Saplings: The Carolina Young Artists’ Magazine is BACK! After a long hiatus, Saplings has teamed up with LifeSpring Academy in Clayton, North Carolina, to publish the next issue in Spring 2017. Our new student staff is looking for photos, art, and writing from talented youth (ages 10-18) who live in North and South Carolina. We know you have talented kids in your school, so spread the word!
Please congratulate the following students who were selected for NC Bandmasters East Region Jazz Band at auditions in Greenville in January. Only the top 19 students in the entire region are selected for this honor band and FFMS was well-represented:
I could see it out of my window,
Like the sky was trying to make a lovely song,
It came down unlike fire billow,
Down it came stretched along.
I could see it trying to gleam through the clouds,
Like it was trying to overcome the gloomy sky,
It finally came through the crowd,
And there it was a glowing medallion in the sky,
A blazing, flaming ball of light shrouds
Across the sky it makes the rain say “Bye,”
There it came across the earth as if it was bowling,
Came the sun.
Welcome to the first post of our FFMS creativity showcase!
The members of the FFMS Publications Team are excited to bring you the best musings and creations of the students, teachers, and staff of FFMS!
If you have any original works please send them to our adviser, Ms. Heinrich, at Submissions.
We are looking for journalistic non-fiction, fiction, poetry, compositions, music performances, artwork — if you create it; we want to help you share it with the wider FFMS family and our community!
